Mehrdad Azadi,

I could never imagine my life without music; composing, performing or recording is how I connect to the universe and lately I have been discovered the art of building musical instruments. I find making the kamancheh (Persian spike fiddle) enjoyable for it’s power of expressions and uniqueness. I would be delighted to share my experience with all who are interested.

Saeid Pirjamali,

Born and raised in the city of Esfahan, the heart of Iran’s art community, I spent my childhood learning the craft of inlaid woodworking. As a young adult, I attended a classical Persian musical festival. There, I saw a setar player for the first time ever. From that day on, my passion to become a luthier came to life. I built my first setar in only a few months with limited materials, and my dedication to the field continued onwards. As time passed, I have perfected my workmanship and expanded my skillsets into building the tar, as well as developing my own techniques and tools. I currently live in the state of Washington, where I continue my luthier journey, building high quality instruments and serving as a mentor for up and coming luthiers.
